Ballet & Books

This is another of those projects I completed while away from blogland:

(That's not actually my slippers, I don't have a picture right now)

Ballet Slippers
Design: Ballet Slippers from Erika Knight's Simple Knits with a Twist

Yarn: Pink ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby

Needles: US 8s

Begun: February 2, 2006

Finished: February 26, 2006

This is such a fun and easy project to do. The pattern calls for using insoles, but since this was for a little girl and she just runs around the house in them, I opted out on the insoles. The ribbon is kind of squirrely to work with at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not a big deal. I finished these in 2 weekends sitting in front of the tv. The only thing is with the weaving in of ends. Mine kept popping out all over the place, so a little bit of fabric glue does just the trick.

Purchases

I just couldn't help myself.

I bought the Vogue Knitting Stitchionaries Vol 1 & Vol 2. I've been cruising around the internet checking out all of the gorgeous sweaters that are out there right now and I think I might just attempt my own versions of some. That will require a lot of stitches that I have no clue at present how to accomplish, hence the new books. Such fun!
