Back from Oblivion

My, my, what could this be?
Why, a pile of Carla waiting to be finished and seamed! But unfortunately, I have not been working on Carla as of late. Something else entirely has occupied my time completely (which is also why I haven't posted in ever so long). I've been somewhere between deadlines for a multitude of projects, all of which ended last week and left me totally stressed out. But now I am completely (well, almost totally) stress free and I get to work on knitting for fun again! This brings me back to Carla. She's a lady of the
Spectrum for the next few months. I better have her finished before the end of March! If not, I'm even more of a slacker than I thought!
These past few weeks have really shown me a lot about how I deal with stress. In the past I have prided myself on being an even-keeled person. Not being overly stressed out or reacting poorly to stress. However, lately I have just been overwhelmed. It has gotten to the point that I'm considering dropping some things from my schedule. It is never a good thing when stress overtakes your life. I'm breaking out, I'm being snippy and generally not nice, and on and on. I need a deep soak in a bubble bath about every other day! I'm slowly breaking out of this and moving back in to my normal pace of life, which still might be too hectic. But bring on the herbal tea and soothing smells since I have at least another semester of craziness to go! Knitting is calming though and now that I'm through a big project it will be thus again.
And maybe it will be warm enough soon to wear Carla out and about!

Glad to hear you're coming back to your saner self, Sarah. Knit what you can when you can. That's the last thing you need to stress about!

I'm so glad to see your post. I missed seeing your blog and was trying to figure out if bloglines lost it on me. I'm glad it didn't!
I can totally relate to your post above, and I'm glad to hear that you are feeling a little better with projects behind you. Enjoy Carla and the bubble baths -- when our hobbies stress us out, that's how we know we're in need of a break!! :) :)

sorry you have been so stressed. but on the positive side, now you know your limits and it sounds like you know how to get things back into balance. that's the important thing.
love the carla sweater! that's been a favorite of mine for a while...maybe i'll get to it for this spring/summer.

Sorry to hear about that stress - I have been feeling it too... I am hoping that warmer weather will mean less...

Hang in there! Work recently has been providing me with tons of stress as well. Can't beat the combo of herbal tea, soothing smells and simple knitting. :)
