Long time no postey...
Wow, has it ever been a long time since I posted! I just finished up my finals today, yay! No more school for a whole month. I couldn't be more excited. I also finished up Stefanie Japel's
Camelia (above). Don't be expecting any modeled shots. It turned out absolutely adorable but somehow I just can't get the yarn to block up to the proper size. It's all fine and good on the blocking board but then two days later it's back to it's original size. My next step is the iron but if that doesn't work, I giving it to my little sister-in-law. Do make the sweater, it's just the "test" in test knitting that messed me up. Stefanie adjusted the pattern for all of our notes so the sizing is right now. I could just rip it all out and start over, but who has the time for that with Christmas coming up? I sure don't.
I also won a contest at
Georgia's blog a while ago and neglected to post photos of my winnings! I was so excited when i won, because I got this:
It is her merino tencel in the colorway Sadie. My photography doesn't do it justice. It's so soft and loverly. It's going to be socks, but I just can't decide for who! She also sent me some chocolate (Lindt chocolate on a stick) but that was so good it was eaten up right away with no time for photography! If you never have, go order some of her yarn. She is most fabulous. Thanks again Georgia!
I do have some other really big news coming up that I can't wait to share with all of you, but it might be a while before I can do so. In the mean time, i will post more knitting and photos now that I don't have homework to keep me chained to my desk. Huzzah!

Something Lacey...
Cute, huh?

I have a new project (as if I need another one!) that I just couldn't pass up. I'm going to be test knitting one of
Stefanie's new patterns. I am so excited about this! Besides the getting in on something first (and who doesn't like that), I'm getting a little peak into the nitty gritties of design work. I know I mention this every once in a while and have not actually shown anything on this blog, but I have so very many ideas for knit designs floating around in my head. I want to get a little more mastery of knitting techniques before I start pawning my stuff off on other people, but the ideas are still there nonetheless. So getting to work on a Glampyre pattern and discuss the pattern with the designer before release is such a fun opportunity for me! I can't put up details but I will show my progress and the finished product. I think it's going to be a smash, it's a cute silhouette and a fast knit. I can't wait to share it with you!
